Law of Attraction: Three Tips for Dealing with Fears, Blocks and Doubt

The concepts of law of attraction often counter what most of us believe about the nature of reality and why our lives are the way that they currently are, to name a few. I know that I have not always thought the way I think now and believed in the things I believe in now. I am far from totally rooting out my old programming but I have made some pretty significant strides and these concepts resonate with me strongly. They make sense and when I began to apply them in my life, my outside experience changed; this served as proof to me that there was something to all of this.

But, even as sure as I am, even though I have a pretty good understanding of all this stuff, I still have my moments, I still have blocks, I still submit to fearful thinking sometimes, I still lend too much credence to outside circumstances, I still let logic get in the way sometimes. I think this happens to a lot of us and it can be frustrating because we are fully aware we are creating our experience and we know this stuff is counterproductive and unnecessary, but we are still letting ourselves experience these things. I have found certain things really help me get back on track and I would like to share them with you.

Feed Your Mind with Law of Attraction Information

For most of us, our path to self-betterment likely started with exposing ourselves to new information, whether in the form of books, seminars, audio or what not. These new ideas inspired us, made us feel better, caused us to become more aware of our thoughts, beliefs, actions, habits and decisions. They made us take our lives in a new direction. In the moments you are feeling down and find yourself gravitating towards the these old ways of being, go back to these sources of change and inspiration. Give yourself a refresher. Take in the information that you know rings true for you, that resonated with you so strongly that it caused you to commit to changing your life. You know this stuff is the truth, but with our old ways of being so deeply ingrained, we still struggle and we need to keep reminding ourselves of these truths. The more we expose ourselves to the information, the more strongly it will take root.

Anything we are feeling at a given moment is due to our current perspective on the situation and it is always perspective. Putting your attention on empowering information will help you change to a more empowering perspective.

Try the Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping)

For any of you not familiar with EFT, I will give a short overview. This healing modality involves tapping on specific parts of the body while saying certain phrases. The basic idea is that tapping on these points helps release blocks, fears and other negative emotions related to the topic at hand. It sounds a bit strange and you may feel even stranger doing it, but since I have started doing tapping on a regular basis, I have found it has helped tremendously. You can find tons of free resources regarding the basic technique, tapping scripts for certain scenarios and actual tapping sessions led by practitioners on Youtube for a variety of issues. Some argue the results are some sort of placebo effect and perhaps that is true. But, the way I see it, if a technique’s success is due to nothing more than you believing it will work, if the end result is you feeling better, does it really matter?

Remind Yourself of Past Successes

No matter how many positive experiences we have had in the past with something, we usually tend to revert to our negative ways of thinking when faced with an unpleasant situation. How many times have you worried about something only to have it taken care of right in the nick of time? When faced with another worrying circumstance , what do you tend to do? Think of all the times when you saw worrying ended up being completely unnecessary or continue to put all your focus on the undesired outcomes and all the things you fear will happen? I think most of us are guilty of this second scenario, I know I am a lot of the time!

I have had a lot of success with the Law of Attraction – some manifestations have been pretty big, some have been of the smaller variety. But, like many people, there are times I still struggle, times when the ‘’me’’ I am trying to overcome rears her ugly head. I am still looking to manifest certain things in my life and I know my own blocks are the only thing keeping me from getting them. In these moments of doubt and fear, it is a good idea to draw your attention to your successes with these concepts. This will remind you that this stuff has worked in the past and that there is no reason that it will not work in the future. When you are feeling yucky about a current situation and doubting you will get what you want, strengthen your resolve by bringing your attention to all the times you saw LOA work for you in your life. This will make you feel better and renew your faith.
