How we are feeling when we get up in the morning and first start our day is crucial in setting our energy, which will determine much of the day to come. For most of us, it involves setting our alarm to the absolute latest time we can sleep and still get out the door on time, rushing around, shoving some breakfast down our throat and beginning the autopilot train of thoughts that stay with us until the moment we manage to get to sleep. This does not sound too great when we think of it in terms of setting the tone for our day. Sure, it is always possible to shift our direction later on, but it is hard. Sure, some stuff may come up that derails the good vibes we achieved that morning, but starting off in a good place weakens the effects of those hiccups and reduces the amount of time they bother us.
If I could think of one best way to start off on the right energetic foot, I would have to say meditation, even if it is just for a few minutes to start, it will make a world of difference. It is hard to explain, but it just slows everything down in a good way. Other good ideas include writing out or reviewing a list of things you are grateful for, doing spoken or written affirmations or looking at a vision board compiled of all the things you want. There is no wrong way to go about this, anything that helps you feel good and keeps you on track with your personal development and making the things you want in life a reality.
Getting your mind right first thing in the morning will condition you to do the mental work necessary throughout the day to shift your thought patterns and adopt the habits that will drive your success. It is crucial to find that extra 5 or 10 minutes in the morning to do what you need to set the stage for the energy and thoughts that will speed up receiving what you want.
