The Past Does not Predict the Future

No matter what your life has been like up until this point, you have the complete power to shape your future in any way you want. This is because your thoughts, energy and intention set in motion inexplicable forces that bring things to you that you need, plant ideas in your own head and basically help everything fall into place. Your thoughts mold who you are and you will be whatever you see yourself as. When you grasp this concept, it will become very clear that you can do, be and have whatever it is you want, regardless of your experiences in the past. There is nothing inherently wrong with you, it was the faulty programming that you have been carrying around; change that and you change everything.

While reviewing our life experience is certainly helpful in some respects, it can also be harmful. When our mind drifts to our past failures, disappointments, mistakes, shortcomings etc..., it can put the wind out of our sails when the wheels get churning about a new idea, desire or life direction. It can sabotage our future chances at success because we are going into everything already expecting that it will not work out somehow.  Your past will only have a bearing on your present if you let it.

Get clear on what you want in life and believe that you will get it. Say it over and over in your mind, visualize, write it out, whatever works for you and keeps you focused on it. Forget about the past and view this moment as starting from a clean slate.

  1. Hi Kelli,

    Excellent!

The past just left town and ain't never coming back. Holding on to the past is like trying to grasp a ghost. Focus on the moment. Let the ghosts of failure go.

Be present. The moment is what matters. Do what you can now, with what you have, and a bright new future awaits you.

Thanks for sharing your insight with us!
